Masterplast has signed a contract for a period of 4 years with “BOM for Hungarian Sport” non-profit Foundation. For the BOM Foundation, as well as its strategical partners, such as the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the Hungarian Paralympic Committee, it is vital to support the youth in focusing their self-education and education besides their sport career, with which they can succeed in many areas of life.
The BOM Non-profit Foundation for Hungarian Sport has been operating as a strategical partner of the Hungarian Olympic Committee (HOC) since 2018, and has been a cooperating party of the Hungarian Paralympic Committee since 2019. In the framework of this cooperation, they have merged the HOC’s Career Program and the BOM Foundation’s scholarship. This latter aims to provide support in the field of education and sport for young talents preparing for the Olympic Games.
The BOM Foundation’s competition invited for the eighth time those young people who are members of an Olympic or Paralympic team and are pursuing higher education in addition to their career as elite athletes. Together with the recent fellows, the Foundation has already been supporting more than 150 athletes. This year, in addition to participants in self-funded formation, state scholarship recipients were also able to apply for the program. The latter receive a freely usable grant. Six of the twenty-five athletes continue their studies in self-funded formation, and nineteen of them are given a state scholarship. Among the recent fellows, World and European champion talents from many sports, including athletes with disabilities, are represented.
“We are thrilled that our scholarship program has enjoyed continuing popularity for 10 years, and we are able to support more and more talents in showing their aptitude for school, and in proving that hard work pays off not only in sport but in several fields of life. This could never happen without our supporters and partners, who have strengthened their trust in these challenging times as well: we prolonged our strategical cooperation with the Hungarian Paralympic Committee until 2024, and we can welcome among our supporters Granit Bank and Masterplast Nyrt.” – said Attila Szalay-Berzeviczy, Chairman of BOM’s Board of Trustees.
“We are committed to supporting the youth and the rising generations. Our social responsibility programs have focused on the well-being of children and patronage of young people from the very beginning. That is why we are very happy to join the BOM Foundation and are proud to take part in this unique scholarship and career program, which also provides an opportunity for young talents with a more modest financial background to develop their skills in sport and learning.” – said David Tibor, CEO of Masterplast.
