Manufacturing base Szerencs, Hungary

The PIMCO plant building in Szerencs, with a row of flags in front of it

Glass wool insulation materials are manufactured in the PIMCO plant in Szerencs — after a gap of several decades, this is where glass wool manufacturing in Hungary was revived. The base was created in a strategic partnership between Masterplast and the Polish Selena group, and it completes the Group's range with mineral-based insulation materials. With it, Masterplast is present in the plastic-based (EPS, XPS) and the mineral-based insulation markets at the same time.

Glass wool manufacturing

Glass wool is a mineral-based, fibrous insulation material which, beside thermal insulation, also gives excellent acoustic insulation and A1 fire performance. Its low thermal conductivity and vapour-permeable structure make it ideal above all for insulating roofs, lofts, partition walls and internal structures — in new build and in modernisation alike.

The Szerencs plant manufactures glass wool products with up-to-date technology and significant annual capacity, so Masterplast can supply the fibrous insulation materials from its own resources too. Demand for mineral insulation grows in step with the tightening of building energy requirements — and manufacturing in Hungary answers that demand with stable, predictable supply.
