For Masterplast, sustainability is not a separate project but the underlying logic of how the company operates. As a responsible company we measure ourselves at once on stable financial management, on the care we take of our colleagues and on our social engagement — while continuously reducing the environmental impact of what we do. What we undertake, we also make measurable and traceable.

Four values hold our operation together. Customer focus means a long-term successful market cooperation, based on a personal, trusting relationship where we increase the competitiveness of our customers by providing a stable background and a high level of service. Masterplast launched its own circular system, for the first time in the Hungarian construction industry. What it does is simple and its effect is all the greater: when polystyrene and XPS products are cut to size on site, clean, unused material is left over — this loss can reach five percent of the quantity used. Nationally that is tens of thousands of cubic metres a year, material that in the absence of another solution becomes waste, burdens the environment and imposes ever more costly handling on contractors.

Masterplast collects it back instead, and makes raw material of it again. Our wholesaler partners act as Masterplast Eco-Points, the collection points of the system: the contractor hands in the cutting residue there, and our logistics take it back for processing. The recycled polystyrene becomes Thermobeton — a thermal insulating light concrete which goes on reducing the energy demand of buildings throughout its whole life cycle. Waste does not become a burden this way, but a new, energy-saving product.

According to Masterplast ars poetica, only a successful company can afford to help others. That is why we take care to give part of our success back to the community — from acquiring equipment for child rescue to supporting animal shelters and a wild bird hospital. These are not one-off gestures, but a natural continuation of our corporate values.
